Women4Europe say VOTE!

women-vote1-420x328Many people, for many different reasons, aren’t on the electoral register.

Given how volatile the political situation in the UK currently is, we strongly urge everyone to make sure they are on the electoral register, in case an early General Election or a People’s Vote on Brexit is held.

***You can register to vote here: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote***

It’s easy, it takes about 5 minutes, and you only need to register once – you do not need to register separately for every election.

You need to register again if you’ve changed address, name or nationality.

You can also use the link above to change how you vote (e.g. in person, by post or getting someone to vote for you – a “proxy vote”). It helps to have your National Insurance number handy, plus your passport if you are a British citizen registered abroad.

Students in particular often fall off the electoral register. You can find more information specifically geared to students here: https://www.yourvotematters.co.uk/can-i-vote/students

  1. I have kept my Danish passport but I can vote at local elections so I am on the electoral register cv10 9lu. I am of course worried and have been since the referendum. My husband and I are actively involved in Peoples Vote. We have a home in Portugal too and had planned to spend as much time there as possible. I would be happy to be contacted by anyone in a similar position.
